Clifton staff and students have been experiencing the motivating, creative, collaborative, and challenging fun of games from Breakout EDU. Presented with a tool box with multiple locks, the participants must work together to solve clues to open the locks. There are games already designed, or teachers can create their own. In the classrooms, these games have gotten students saying, "I think..." and working in teams. A growth mindset is needed to persevere, and good communication skills help solve the puzzle more quickly. With a few tweaks, these games could be used to "gamify" course content and increase soft skills that employers are looking for.
